About 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO

1962 Ferrari 250 GTO:

The sublime 250 GTO (Gran Tourismo Omologato) remains the most prized of the classis Ferraris with examples fetching upwards of $24 million. In 2018, a 250 GTO achieved the highest ever price at auction with a staggering £52 million (a sobering thought when considering that the cost of a new one in 1962 was just $7200!)

A 300bhp V12 engine brings race car performance (and cabin noise!) to the GTO to evoke memories of a class win at Le Mans in the early 60's. The timeless lines were created by Pininfarina, enhanced by Scaglietti, and bore now classic Ferrari styling cues of rounded tail lamps and vertical side vents, not to mention the subtly integrated rear spoiler. A restyle took place for the 1964 model year.

Just 39 of these all time classics were made, helping to keep prices astronomically high.
